Marsha Dresbach, one of Nancey's former students, suggested establishing a scholarship fund to honor Nancey's legacy as an educator. She has worked with the administration at Leipsic High School to make this possible.

The Nancey "Stertz" Schortgen Scholarship will be awarded each Spring to a graduating senior planning to major in education or one who has participated in high school theater productions.

Contributions can be made to the Leipsic Education Foundation via check with a note in the memo indicating funds are for the Nancey "Stertz" Schortgen Scholarship. An acknowledgment letter will be provided indicating the contribution was to a 501c3 organization. The address for the school is: 232 Oak Street, Leipsic, OH 45856
