Get your team together and come out for a great day of softball, competition, and community support with the Leighton Fire Department!

📅 AUGUST 1ST⏰ Starting at 8:00 AM📍 Colbert County Softball Field

💲 Teams are $100 per team👥 Player maximum of 10 and minimum of 9 players📝 Team Registration Ends July 17th

🏆 WINNER AND RUNNER UP will get the opportunity to play against the 2026 Class 3A State Runner-Up Lady Indians Softball Team! 🥎🔥

📌 Tournament Rules & Format:• Games are 7 innings, 1 hour and 30 minutes, or mercy rule — whichever comes first• All teams will compete in a double elimination tournament• Once teams are registered and brackets are set, your first game time will be scheduled and teams will be notified

🚒🇺🇸 MEMORIAL DAY 🇺🇸🚒

Today, the Leighton Volunteer Fire Department pauses to honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the true cost of freedom and to pay tribute to those who gave everything so that we may live in safety and liberty. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We also extend our deepest respect to the families of the fallen, whose strength and sacrifice continue every day.

From all of us at LVFD, we honor the heroes who gave their lives for our nation.

From all of us back home in Leighton and across Colbert County, we are extremely proud of the hard work, determination, and dedication each of you have shown throughout the season. You represented your school, community, and tribe with pride both on and off the field.

The Leighton Volunteer Fire Department was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jimmy Hughes, a true Leighton legend and someone whose name will forever be remembered in our community.

Mr. Hughes left a lasting impact on the Town of Leighton and on the many lives he touched throughout the years. His legacy and contributions to our community will not be forgotten.

During this difficult time, we ask that everyone keep the Hughes family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.

Rest in Peace, Jimmy Hughes.
