The interview by Megan Reuther, WHO, will be on Monday, January 25, at 5:00 PM. She interviewed for about an hour. We are excited to see what is broadcast in 2 minutes.

Newsflash!!!

Megan Reuther from WHO TV along with her cameraman visited the PET shop and Bill's wood shop in Leighton for interviews with Pete Verhey, Bill Bruxvoort and some volunteers.

Megan said we will probably be on the news sometime next week but the time and date is not known yet. This information will be posted as soon and we hear definitely.

We honored William (Bill) Bruxvoort yesterday afternoon with a donation to PETIA-Leighton – a great ministry that Bill has supported since it began in 2011. Bill was one of our longtime directors and stepped down from the board after nearly 20 years of dedicated service. We thank Bill for his leadership at Leighton State Bank – both as a bank officer and director!

Everyone welcome to Leighton, Sat., December 13, 5:00 to 7:00 PM PET IA-Leighton OPEN HOUSE at the PET Shop (school) and Bill Bruxvoort's Wood Shop.

Also the Leighton Lyons will have a Soup Supper 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Leighton Christian Ref. Church.

Also come and enjoy the Lights in Leighton as there is a Lighting Contest this evening.

And new this year is a live drive-through nativity located at the first place east of Leighton on the blacktop sponsored by Ebenezer Ref. Church.

Part of the Pella Mission/Medical team was on their way to the airport Friday to return to Pella, IA. A PET cart was spotted. Dr. Rob Bruxvoort took a picture to send to us. Very colorful paint job.

LEIGHTON FESTIVAL OF LIGHT Saturday evening, December 7:

5:00 - 7:30 Leighton Lions Soup Supper at the Leighton Christian Ref. Church - Free Will Donations will be given to PET

4:30 - 7:30 Tours will be given at the PET Shop (former school house) and at Bruxvoorts Woodworking Shop at 203 Jackson St.

5:00 - 8:00 Tour of Lights - Drive around Leighton to view the Lights.

PET IA-Leighton would like to thank all the volunteers and contributors of the PET project. Every gift and every task is so much appreciated! Because of each one of you many people in other countries are able to get out of the dirt and have a new dignity they have never experienced before. You have all become in a new way, the hands and feet of Jesus. Thanks again for partnering with us. PET IA-Leighton could not exist without you.

Yesterday, the PET shop and Bill's shop were beehives of activity. Over 70 members from Pella's 2nd Christian Reformed Church were busy building and painting the wood components, assembling, text driving and boxing 36 PET carts. They also provided a great crew to keep all the workers well fed. With their help, PET IA-Leighton has now reached #600! Very soon 182 PETS will be shipped from Leighton to World Vision in Colorado which will distribute them all over the world. To God be the glory!!

We are having a BIG day with Pella 2nd CRC at the shops building PETs. It is going to be a fun filled day. May God be glorified, it is not about us.
