The YMI extends sympathy to the family of Andrea Clark, whose photojournalism made it possible to see visually what was trying to be erased. We are grateful for her contribution as a Black female historian, artist, and documentarian, who loved Black folks and Asheville. She will be missed and we are grateful that her work empowers what we continue to do. She will not be forgotten…and yet we still mourn her passing alongside our community.
