The Burn Ban in Mahoning Township has been lifted. Please remember to be safe while burning and only burn on days that are suitable. Please don’t burn on windy days. Only burn in a cleared area and have water and a rake or shovel near by. Never leave a fire unattended and please make sure it is extinguished before leaving it. You must also contact the Carbon County Communication Center at 1-800-452-1813 prior to conducting any outdoor burning. Thank you in advance for being fire safe.

MVFC Volunteers have responded to 6 calls in the last 24 hours. Four of those calls were last evening during a 3 hour period and 3 of the 6 calls were working brush fires. It’s that time of year again. **There is a burn ban effective immediately in Mahoning Township**

Thank you to all who were able to come out and support our annual Good Friday Seafood Dinner. It was another successful event! We hope you enjoyed the food. If you attended this event last year, you may have noticed that this year was a little different. There was no long line like there was last year, even though we served the same amount of people. Our members are always working hard to serve our community the best way we can; whether it be an emergency or a seafood dinner. We streamlined our process in the kitchen and added an extra hour to our serving time and it seemed to work well. Hope to see you all again next year!!

Meat raffle tickets for sale! Drawing date is Monday May 11th and they are $10 a piece. Thank you as well to Thomson’s meat market and if you are interested in tickets please see a member for some and we will have them available at our seafood dinner as well!
