Good morning people! I have a group ready to go, and I went to my old computer to reprint the homebrew I have for first timers. And of course, my old laptop computer is fried. so I’ve had to rewrite it from scratch. Something I put together just for beginners. I named it the Mad Tower of Mazz. Mazz was a 23rd level MU and my very first character. Retired him from gaming because he was just too strong to have any real fun.
Story starts out the characters all meet on a sea vessel on their way to a small hamlet up north where the air is starting to get frigid. The ship is sailing towards a small town located in a very isolated part of the continent, very famous for monster troubles and a great place for evil to fester. The pc’s destination town is named is
Dactyl. The town is a Coastal town of roughly 300 residents and the primary trade is fishing, but the ground is too harsh for farming. Two days west is another town named Briarthorn and it is a rich farming community. Dactyl and Briarthorn trade fish for grown food and dactyl also provides the means for the food to be shipped out.
When the story starts and the PCs are settled in town they discovered that there are issues with Briarthorn. They have lost contact with the community and it’s been almost 2 weeks. The town has dispatched local guards to investigate, but they have not yet returned. As the PCs become acquainted with the town folk, they learn that Briarthorn is located very close to what is supposedly an abandoned wizards tower that is also surrounded by a graveyard of a once great battle. Some speculate in town that the wizard has returned and is mad from his traveling on other planes and has raised the dead and put a curse on the entire area.
The mission is, if you choose to accept it, is to travel to Briarthorn and discover why the town has gone dark and what has happened to the previous guards sent to investigate. Possibly even leading to investigating the unholy graveyard and the wizard tower that stands in the center of it!
DM note : the scenario has been structured to be easy to hard. With all the intrigue around both towns and the Wizard Tower, there’s plenty here to strike off on the side adventures and quests even to make a prolonged campaign. Good luck!
