Interesting
Just an FYI... Most people think we can't have Earthquake's here in Louisiana... Guess again... All those little lines are faults across South Louisiana.
They're mainly inactive but are subject to movement regardless as you'll read below.
Also, this carbon capture crap is being done right on these fault lines. If they haven't already done so, I highly suggest that the USGS Eastern Ecological Science Center , LSU and the State start putting out remote sensing equipment to monitor for ground movement along these faults.
The 9.2 magnitude Alaska earthquake on March 27, 1964 was felt across south Louisiana and Texas. Dr. Woody Gagliano compiled all of the known "felt reports" which included observations of 4-foot waves on the Amite River near Port Vincent, Bayou Lafourche near Galiano, the Calcasieu and Houston Ship Channels.
Gagliano was able to relate the locations of the felt reports to major fault systems, and concluded that the earthquake probably triggered movement on these faults. He also found that after-the-fact reports linked cracks in a public swimming pool in Baton Rouge and the collapse of concrete walls at a water treatment plant in New Orleans to fault movement associated with the earthquake.
