Come hungry — The Plate Scrapers are on the menu June 7.

Five-piece bluegrass born from jams and potlucks (extremely on-brand origin story for a farm fest). Since 2014, they've shared stages with The Seldom Scene, Larry Keel, and Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen — bringing hard-driving bluegrass, country ballads, and folk lyricism with chemistry you can feel from the back row.

Our loud, proud, and chatty Executive Director, Greg Masucci, was out at the Leesburg Farmers Market yesterday advertising our , happening next Sunday, June 7th at 868 Estate Vineyards. And yes…he’s sporting his notorious “Bluegrass Vest”, because he’s a Dad whose second goal in life (besides spreading AFLO’s mission) is to cause extreme embarrassment to his 16 y.o. daughter. 😏 Mission accomplished.

We couldn't think of a better human to hand the mic to all day — and luckily, Justin Lawrence Trawick said yes. He's emceeing A Fest Less Ordinary from noon to 7, and hitting the stage with The Common Good for a headliner-slot set at 4 PM. Truly a buy-one-get-six-free situation.

Justin's been touring Americana out of DC since 2006, sharing stages with The Avett Brothers, Blues Traveler, The Wallflowers, Suzanne Vega, Dr. Dog, and Wyclef Jean — with festival stops from Wolf Trap to TEDxEast NYC. He's the kind of frontman who can hold a vineyard's worth of strangers in the palm of his hand and play a mean fiddle. Lucky us.

There are a lot of straws in our water table these days in . You can’t farm without water. AFLO is planning for potential droughts by drilling a deeper well and capturing rainwater for reuse in the fields. Resiliency takes planning! Thank you to the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties for helping us fund our new well on the farm through its Community Response Grants.
