Loudoun County Trails Association

Loudoun County Trails Association LOCOTA (Loudoun County Trails Association) is a group that advocates the development of new and existing multi-use trails within Loudoun County.

The goals of LOCOTA are to:
1 - Quantify the benefits of the outdoor recreation trail economy in Loudoun County and ascertain the assets and needs of all non-motorized recreation trail users on an ongoing basis.
2 - Foster the maintenance and expansion of existing recreation trails and associated support facilities, and the development of new facilities and recreation trails in Loudoun County, inc

luding through volunteer trail identification, route selection, construction, and maintenance.
3 - Promote and protect new and existing programs of land conservation that support and sustain outdoor recreation trail activities.
4 - Promote the attraction, retention, and expansion of outdoor recreation trail-related businesses in Loudoun County.
5 - Develop and encourage responsible trail use behavior among all recreation trail users.
6 - Provide a neutral forum for discussion of trail issues, policies, and concerns before they become problems.
