Last time, we shared how our Capstone students jumped right into life on the farm, rain and all. Today we are taking a closer look at the lessons they learned about caring for the land and the living things that help it thrive!
Agriculture is about so much more than planting seeds. It's about learning how every part of the ecosystem works together.
Throughout their Capstone project, our students rolled up their sleeves to tackle real farm challenges. They learned about invasive species like thistle and why it's important to remove them before they spread. They harvested, prepared new growing spaces, and helped care for the land that will feed our community.
Along the way, they also discovered some of the farm's smallest but mightiest helpers. From native pollinators to beneficial insects like ladybugs, students got a firsthand look at the role these creatures play in keeping our gardens healthy and thriving.
By getting their hands dirty and learning directly from the land, our Capstone students gained a deeper appreciation for the teamwork, stewardship, and care that go into sustainable agriculture every day. π±π
