Paws for your Heart

❤️ As many of you know, we've been running our Paws for your Heart program for over three years now and work directly with wonderful organizations like Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA).

🐾These amazing dogs came to us in 2020 and received treatment. They are all healthy and happy pups now thanks to our doctors and staff at LVH, the wonderful volunteers at FOHA, and your generous support.

As many of you may know, Heartworm disease can be a costly, debilitating, and potentially deadly disease for dogs. Due to the high cost and months of treatment, many rescues shy away from accepting Heartworm Positive (HW+) dogs. It is simply more time and money than they can commit. Thanks to a partnership with Leesburg Veterinary Hospital, which provides for low cost treatment, so far in 2020 we have helped 10 dogs receive heartworm treatment. Most are fully healed from the months-long treatment and are in their forever homes. Your donations allow us to continue to accept these wonderful dogs that have been overlooked by other shelters due to a lack of funds.
