Aziz, Antonia, and Kim had fun volunteering with the Kiwanis Club of Fairfax at the Fairfax Fall Festival. Stop by and say, “Hi,” and enjoy a beverage. The festival ends at 5. David Lurie, Capital District Governor, also joined the event.

This weekend, members of the Leesburg Kiwanis Club and its affiliated Key Clubs were pleased to participate in Douglass Legacy Day, celebrating the history and legacy of Douglass High School, Leesburg's first and only Black high school from 1941-1968. The day featured live music, lawn games, historical bingo, interactive children's science shows, and a chalk artist, among other things. Our club distributed several hundred free books and some treats to children attending the festival. We're always happy to promote youth reading and literacy as well as support our local community!

We are within a month of the 70th Annual Leesburg Kiwanis Halloween Parade on Wednesday, Oct. 28th at 6:30pm. Here is the potential light yellow giant pumpkin that Nalls Farm Market plans to design for the parade. It’s 1,665 lbs. The club appreciates all the little pumpkins that Nalls has passed out to attendees throughout their years in our parades.

With help from Key Club members from Tuscarora, Woodgrove, and Rock Ridge, our club prepped 📚 for Douglass Legacy Day on Oct. 3rd. Please bring your kids to choose free books to keep in their 🏠 libraries. Thanks for letting us use the conference room, Rust Library. We also had enough volunteers and extra time to make positive message cards for future projects and prepared additional books for the 70+ little libraries in LOCO. Kid is for Kids! Kids need Kiwanis.

What do you get when you have two Leesburg Kiwanis members whose daughter is a Circle K district board member and a member of the CKI of William & Mary? The answer is lots of interclubs -- especially to her sponsoring club, the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg. This weekend, all three volunteered for the Williamsburg Kiwanis Shrimp Feast, an annual event featuring all you can eat shrimp, live entertainment, kids activities, and more, all to support organizations and service projects in the local Williamsburg community. From pouring w**e to admitting guests, a great time was had by all! Congratulations to the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg on another successful Shrimp Feast! We look forward to the next interclub!
