51 million tons of plastic waste was created in 2021 with only about 5% being recycled (U.S. production alone). The plastic industry plans to triple production by 2050 and our reuse/recycle numbers are only getting worse.... The all time "high" for recycled plastic has only ever been 9.5% in 2014 while steadily decreasing to the current number year by year.

While we drive farther and farther into a convenience driven society with what seems to be little care about the health of our future, we have to stop to ask ourselves, "Is convenience really convenient at this cost?". Please think about what you purchase and what goes in your garbage.

Our kitchen is empty, but our future won’t be.

The further we dive into our non-profit work, the more unsettling news we discover about plastics. We all are aware, or should be, of BPA and the terrible effects it has on the human body and how thankfully it has been removed from most production lines for plastics, but what’s replacing it? New chemicals of course! Not enough research has been conducted to cover even half of these new plasticizers and their chemical makeups. The minimal amount of research that has been conducted has found many ailments, some life threatening/gene altering, created by these new unknown chemicals.

We can no longer support plastic of any kind. We have decided to take all plastic items out of our kitchen and are working our way towards a completely plastic free home. We urge you to do your own research!

Convenience is no longer convenient if it shortens your life.
