Camp Enterprise, the free enterprise learning weekend sponsored by the Kansas City Rotary Club, will be held for the 37th time on Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16
Camp Enterprise is an intensive two-day seminar on business issues for a group of select high schools students, held at the Rotary Club’s picturesque Youth Camp on the shores of Lake Jacomo. Each September the Rotary Clu
b hosts about 70 students, who interact with business, civic and government leaders to learn firsthand about business start-ups, management, employee relations, the responsibilities of businesses toward society, and business ethics. Rotary Club President Jerry Cooke, feels Camp Enterprise is one of the most important activities of the Club. “Every Rotarian in our region believes in helping ‘leaders to be’ understand, appreciate and respect the business world. Camp Enterprise creates a climate of ‘on line and real time’ for our high school leaders that should spark a genuine interest in a career in business, or at a minimum, bring some firsthand reality to their perception of how business works and its rewards. As Club 13 President, I applaud and thank both the leaders and our volunteers!”
Randy Sisk, is the chair of the Camp Enterprise steering committee this year. “We have put together a solid group of business and civic leaders to organize and run this year’s session,” he said, “and we feel that it promises to be one of the best we have ever held.”
