Sunrise Rotary welcomes all who have a desire for community service and interested in growing friendships with other service minded community members. Over the years Sunrise Rotary has developed a reputation for international service. It has hosted multiple international delegations from Russia,France, Chile, Dominican Republic and Australia, Africa, focusing on understanding our medical, construction, education and legal systems. The club has also participated in school literacy programs for children in Central America and has built eight water purification plants at schools in Central Thailand. Locally, the club was responsible for raising over $100,000 used in constructing a Legacy Park playground for children with special physical needs. Our annual service projects are our Fly A Flag, Adopt A Street, BBQ’s for low income housing with COLDWATER and Pro Deo Youth Center, and essential items collections for Hope House. Feed Lee’s Summit has become a signature fundraiser which has supported those who are food challenged in Lee’s Summit. Sunrise has given grants of just over $240,000 since its inception in 2019.
