THE CHOMPSAWS ARE ON THE MOVE!
The Lee’s Summit Educational Foundation is proud to invest more than $6,000 in Chompsaws for elementary schools across the district and they are on their way to our elementary buildings!

So…what exactly is a Chompsaw? It’s a hands-on, kid-powered engineering tool that lets students safely cut and shape cardboard - turning an ordinary box or cardboard into just about anything they can imagine.

We can’t wait to see what LSR7 students build with them!
Big ideas start with simple tools... and a whole lot of imagination.

Dolly Parton has shown us that philanthropy isn’t just about giving. It’s about believing in something and choosing to be part of making a difference.

Thank you to Dolly, for believing in the power of a book and making that belief a reality for so many Missouri kids. Since the Imagination Library launched statewide, more than 4.3 million books have been delivered to Missouri children, reaching nearly 170,000 children. We’re grateful for the difference she has made and continues to make right here in our state. And we know her kindness and generosity reach far beyond Missouri and her influence will continue to bring opportunity and hope to many people for many years.

Her example is a great reminder to get involved in the causes that matter to us and to use whatever we have to make our communities a little better.

There’s a lot we can learn from Dolly. ❤️

What a GREAT morning to kick off the 2026–27 year!

The room was filled with so many of the people who make LSEF special: our board and advisory members, donors, event sponsors, volunteers, and longtime supporters, along with some who were joining us for the very first time.

We’re incredibly grateful for the people who continue to show up, give back and believe in our schools. We love being part of this community and seeing what we can accomplish together for LSR7 students and staff.

Here’s to an amazing year ahead and hopefully our BEST year yet!

The Annual Fund Drive is our employee giving campaign and it is officially underway!

We’re so lucky to have such generous staff who believe in making a difference for LSR7 students and teachers.

When our staff gives, those dollars stay right here in LSR7, helping provide additional resources, opportunities, and experiences that make a difference in our schools.

Such a GREAT morning at Convocation welcoming our staff back for the 2026–27 school year! There was an amazing sense of excitement as we embark on a new year, fresh with possibility!

Students from each of the LSR7 high schools wowed us with incredible performances, showcasing the talent and school spirit that make our district so special!

Teacher of the Year, Chris Walker, inspired us with the message that “obstacles are opportunities” and that education is all about helping others “live their dash”—the dash between your birthdate and your death date.

Support Professional of the Year, Zac Pross, shared these powerful words: “Children deserve a chance to grow into something unique and incredible, and the people in this room are making it possible.”

The keynote speaker, Colonel Arthur J. Athens, USMC (Ret.), brought the story of the 1980 U.S. Men’s Hockey Team and their Miracle on Ice to life, highlighting how that team learned to shift their focus from ME to WE.

Each speaker reminded us the impact our LSR7 staff have every single day in the lives of the children in our community.

Here’s to a new school year filled with possibility, purpose and a whole lot of WE!
