HAYB is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit Youth Ballet founded by Artistic Director, Cynthia Monaco, on August 10, 1990. The company's mission is to promote the arts, with emphasis on ballet education and training. The company members are selected by the artistic director, exclusively from Heart of America Dance Centre. HADC offers classes from pre-ballet through pre-professional. Annually, the HADC studio is magically transformed into a Dinner Theatre Playhouse. The community is invited to a Mother/Daughter Tea Party where the performers can be seen up-close-and-personal as they perform excerpts from the ballet. The performers are in full costume (indicative of the upcoming performance . . . Wizard of Oz, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Little Mermaid, etc.). Following the tea party where attendees are served tea, finger foods, and sweets, performers are available for autographs and photographs. The tea party is the one HAYB fundraiser held on a yearly basis.

It is with heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of Amy Rodgers one of HAYB’s OG’s.

Amy was a member of the company in the early 90’s and her daughter Taylor was also an alumni graduate from HAYB in 2020.

Amy, remained a dedicated volunteer for HAYB. She helped organize backstage and props, making sure the show ran smoothly backstage to help assure a beautiful performance on stage. She preferred to be behind the scenes, but to all of us that knew and loved her, she will always remain center stage in our hearts.
