Strengthening Education Together statement regarding LSR-7 Rollback:

We would like to thank the administrators, board members and every person involved in researching, evaluating and presenting data to the public regarding the existing financial situation for LSR-7. We understand that this has been a tedious process considering a varying amount of contributing factors in making the decision that would affect the schools, staff, administrators, parents, community, and most importantly the students.

Strengthening Education Together supports the board’s decision to rescind 40 cent of the possible 65 cent property tax rollback that was taken voluntarily as a result of the property tax increase affecting tax payers in 2023. We are aware that the state of Missouri’s decision to reduce funding for public schools would negatively impact our district and that accommodations were necessary to maintain the level of excellence LSR-7 has been accustomed to.

While we support the board's decision to increase taxes and fund our operating budget , we expect fiscal transparency that reflects fiscal responsibility for decisions made related to operating expenses. We expect that all decisions made will:
- include the consideration of all stakeholders involved
- examine the relevance of all expenses
- contribute to preparing each student for success in life

Yes, Good Trouble Lives On! Join us this Saturday, July 18, for this weekend of action as we honor the Legacy of John Lewis and mobilize our efforts to continue the fight for civil rights! We will have voter registration, spoken word, and speakers to help us understand whats on the upcoming ballot.

We'll enjoy entertainment from the Comprehensive Arts Institute Youth Jazz band and the Indivisible choir!
