This Memorial Day, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

This weekend, several of our Cub Scouts and families joined scouts from Lee's Summit Troop 366 and traveled to Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery to place flags at the gravesites of fallen heroes. It was a powerful reminder that even small Scouts can do big things through service, respect, and kindness.

One flag at a time, Scouts showed that remembrance matters. They joined scouts from other troops and packs, placing flags at over 22,000 gravesites. And by honoring others, they truly lived the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

We are incredibly proud of these Cub Scouts for taking part in such a meaningful act of service.

As the school year comes to an end, so too does the scout year. On Tuesday the Pack celebrated our scouts and their amazing accomplishments.

It's been a great year. Shoutout to the parents who have supported their scouts over the past 8 months. Thanks to Mark, Scott, Antisha, Joe, Tonya, Dick, and all the other leaders who helped guide these scouts on the trail. And finally, a special thanks to our Den Chiefs: Madison, Rob, Christian, Caleb, and Keira. Thank you for being excellent role models for these young cubs.

This year, the Pack passed out more than 215 adventure loops/pins, 15 rank advancements, and 5 den chief awards. That's no small feat.

But Scouts isn't just about the awards and recognition. It's about the experiences and building new skills. These scouts went on more than 20 different adventures this year. From the KC Zoo to multiple hikes around Lee's Summit. From racing in the Pinewood Derby to special guest visitors from Burr Oaks Nature Center and Veterans. These cubs have also helped their community, including trash cleanup at Bernard Campbell Middle School, Underwood Elementary School, Meadow Lane Elementary LSR7, and Deer Valley Park. They also volunteered at Wayside Waifs and Coldwater of Lee's Summit. (Raising more than 622 lbs of food for Scouting for Food.) And they went on so many campouts, from Summer camps at Theodore Naish Scout Reservation to fall campouts at H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation.

Even though this part of the journey comes to a close, the adventures are far from over. New challenges await as these cubs continue on their journey to Arrow of Light.

Tonight’s pack picnic is going to be held at the scout church. The ground at the park is soaking wet after all the rain last night and this morning.

Please join us at the church for food, fun, and celebrating our scouts and their hard work over the past 10 months.

Pack families, this Memorial Day weekend we have an opportunity to help Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery honor the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Scouts will help place flags on the graves of soldiers.

If interested in joining, please see the email that went out Thursday. This is an active military base and we need to register all individuals 16 years and older. I need to get the information submitted ASAP.

Reminder that tonight’s Cub Scout meeting is at Meadow Lane Elementary. Scouts will be picking up trash around the school. Plus popsicles and capri suns after we are done.

Lee's Summit Troop 366 enjoyed the weekend at Theodore Naish Scout Reservation. They got a chance to see where the cub scouts and Webelos will be having all the fun this summer.

Scouts had a great hike at Theodore Naish Scout Reservation. The scouts also learned a valuable lesson about cooking on the trail.

Special thanks to all the scouts who help with cleanup projects this weekend. Scouts cleaned up Underwood Elementary School on Thursday after the Play-a-Palooza event. Then scouts helped clean up around Bernard Campbell Middle School and the track and field stands. All together, scouts collected 3 bags of trash.
