One of the first missions of the Reis Foundation was to try to make an impact on school lunches - on connecting healthy, local produce to our schools in Berkshire County. We’ve done it through helping build gardens, giving children vouchers at farmers markets, speaking in health classes, and other ways, but now we have an opportunity for our most direct and biggest impact yet!
St. Mary’s School in Lee is having to reassess what they can offer for school lunches, and it is our mission to help provide as much of the produce for the kids as possible.
Not only will this allow for us to ensure our local kids are getting healthy food, but we can give them access to LOCAL food, which is so important!
The Reis Foundation is going to be partnering with local farms to provide produce for St. Mary’s School lunches, and just how much of that we can do is in your hands!
We need your help.
Anything you can donation will go 100% to getting produce from the farms to feed these children.
Every dollar and penny you can donate is appreciated and won’t be put to waste!

This afternoon Massachusetts scored a major victory: A federal judge directed President Trump and his administration to use its contingency fund to provide SNAP recipients their needed benefits, and ordered President Trump and his administration to report back to the court on Monday, November 3 with a timeline for doing so. 

While this is a positive outcome, November SNAP benefits are not being sent this weekend. While we wait for more clarity from President Trump and his administration, it is unclear when November benefits will begin to be paid and in what amount. DTA will provide information to clients as soon as possible, including at mass.gov/SNAPupdates (https://www.mass.gov/info-details/november-2025-snap-updates). Massachusetts is about to lose its SNAP/EBT Benefits on November 1st. That means that any family relying on food stamps to help feed their children will no longer have this help. As our priority is providing healthy food for children, we find it imperative that we must help!

We are currently raising money to give food directly to the families in need. Families will be able to apply on our website, or nominate other families that may be in need, and they will receive a grocery store gift card to help offset what is going on politically.

Politics shouldn’t get in the way of feeding children, so please consider helping us offset their food stamp shortage.

Families will receive $100 gift cards, so you can either donate that amount to help one family out, or give a few dollars to put towards them. Anything counts; whether it’s $1 or $1000, it will have an impact!
