NWTF Kansas Women In The Outdoors WITO Recognizing a growing demand for outdoors-related programs geared towards women, NWTF launched the Women in the Outdoors Program in 1998.

The first Women in the Outdoors event was held in Junction City, Kansas.

Female hunter numbers are rising!
According to research from the National Sporting Goods Association, women's participation in hunting and shooting sports increased significantly in the past five years with more than 3 million women hunting in 2005. In 2001, the National Survey of Fishing, Hunting, and Wildlife Associated Recreation reported 1.2 million female hunters age 16 years old and older. - Responsive Management
