On Feb. 3, we honor and remember the selfless acts of Lt. George Fox, Lt. Alexander Goode, Lt. Clark Poling, and Lt. John Washington during the sinking of the U.S.A.T Dorchester. While the ship was sinking, after being hit by a German U-boat torpedo Feb. 3, 1943, the four chaplains stayed on the ship comforting the wounded and directing others to safety. The four chaplains were last seen praying together, while the ship went down. May we always remember the sacrifice the chaplains gave and the 672 lives lost. ❤️🤍💙

Security Camera Update:
We want to clarify recent rumors regarding the club’s security camera system.
The previous camera system had audio capability; however, audio was never used or monitored. To eliminate any confusion or concern, the club has changed to a new camera system that does not record audio.
The current cameras provide video-only coverage of the bar, lounge, Lotto room, and hallway and are in place strictly for safety, accountability, and protection of members, staff, and the facility.
Any claims that conversations are being listened to are incorrect. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in stopping the spread of inaccurate information.

For years, St Clairsville American Legion Post 159 has made significant financial donations to other organizations and entities within its community, including more than $100,000 from 2022 to 2024.
But 2025 was different. In fact, it was record-breaking.
After totaling all of this year’s donations, Post 159 had given out more than $67,000, impacting local high school and college students, nonprofits and other charities, and local law enforcement.

Served for 31 long years in the U.S. Navy, extensively operated in the Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, and during the Cold War and Gulf War era. Decommissioning in 1996, she was sunk as a target during weeks of live-fire exercise, becoming the largest warship ever intentionally sunk at approximately 11:30, 14 May 2005.
