Compassionate Hands

Compassionate Hands Compassionate Hands is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to serving individuals experiencing homelessness & breaking cycles of poverty.

Rooted in love, service, & compassion, we provide shelter, resources, and longterm support. Compassionate Hands provides housing for men and women through the winter months (Dec 1-March 15) with the help of local churches and volunteers. Once overnight shelters close, we then provide meals, showers, laundry service and care coordinators on Mondays and Fridays (March-May), Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays (June-November).

These are not just numbers—they are stories of resilience, restoration, and hope.

Every number represents a life that has been moved toward a brighter future. A person who found housing after facing instability. A family reunited after being separated by hardship. Someone who received the healthcare they desperately needed. An individual who gained access to vital documents, opening doors to new opportunities. A job secured. A fresh start made possible.

What may appear as statistics are, in reality, moments of transformation. Lives regaining stability. Families finding connection. People rediscovering purpose and possibility.

This is big. This is real. This is the power of hope made tangible—one life, one family, one success story at a time.

We are thrilled to announce that the 2026 Tennessee Extension Master Gardeners Search for Excellence Award has been awarded to the Compassionate Hands Healing Garden!

This recognition is a tremendous honor, and it would not have been possible without the dedication, hard work, and ongoing care provided by the members of the Wilson County Master Gardener Association. Their commitment to our garden and the people we serve has made this achievement possible.

We would also like to celebrate this month’s Sunshine Award recipient, Calvin. Congratulations, Calvin, and thank you for all you do!
