Kindness matters.

A small act can brighten someone's entire day, and maybe even their week.

Teaching kids the value of kindness early helps them grow into compassionate, caring adults. Start simple:
๐Ÿ’› Share a smile
๐Ÿ’› Lend a hand when it's needed
๐Ÿ’› Speak gently โ€” to others and to yourself

We could use a little more kindness in the world ๐ŸŒŽ

What a priveledge to join others to raise awareness about human trafficking in Wilson County today! Mayor Hutto proclaimed that this is Red Sand Project Awareness Week in Wilson County, TN. Each grain of Red Sand represents a victim who falls thorough the cracks. We see regularly see child victims of trafficking at our Child Advocacy Center, and it might surprise you that those responsible aren't always strangers.

Know the signs of a child trafficking:

*A child is in possession of unexplained large amounts of cash, prepaid cards, hotel keys, multiple cell phones or apps providing multiple cell phone numbers
*The childโ€™s ID is being held by another person, or they do not have any ID
*Signs that the child has been coached when talking to people, letting others speak for them or looking at others before they speak
*Tattoos or branding the child does not wish to talk about, explain or did not choose
*Chronic homelessness, youth who are unstably housed or children who frequently run awayย
*Abruptly disconnects from family and friendsย
*Close association with an overly controlling adultย
*Regular, unexplained school absences

If a child is in immediate danger, call 911. To report suspected child trafficking, contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline at 1-800-THE-LOST or the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888.

National Make a Difference to Children Month is a time to think about the adults who shaped who we are.

We all have someone. A teacher who believed in us before we believed in ourselves, a coach who pushed us when we wanted to quit, or a neighbor who always had the door open.

Which team are you on?

Team Early Bird:
โ˜€๏ธ Beat the heat before it hits
โ˜€๏ธ First ones to the pool before it gets crowded
โ˜€๏ธ Farmer's markets, fresh air, and quiet coffee before the chaos starts

Team Night Owl:
๐ŸŒ™ Fireflies and front porch evenings
๐ŸŒ™ Cookouts that stretch past sunset
๐ŸŒ™ No schedules, no rush; just good people and good food

Honestly? Both sound pretty great to us. So tell us, what's your family's summer dynamic?

Not every feeling is an emergency. ๐Ÿ’™

Kids, especially those who deal with anxiety, can feel something in their body and immediately think something is wrong.

But our bodies are always sending us signals, and not all of them mean danger. A stomachache before something exciting. A racing heart on the first day of school. These are signals, not alarms.

Instead of rushing to fix the feeling, help them get curious about it. That small shift builds confidence, body awareness, and coping skills that last a lifetime.

Sometimes, making a difference looks like the little things. ๐Ÿ’™

A note in the lunchbox. Showing up to an event that matters to them, even when it's inconvenient. Saying "I'm proud of you" out loud.

What's a small thing someone did for you as a kid that you still remember?

Child neglect doesn't always look obvious.

Some of the most frequently missed signs have nothing to do with food or shelter.
