Summer Camp & Summer Lunch begin June 15th and run through July 31st.

If you want to help buy food, we can use gift cards to purchase milk, produce (we also accept produce from your garden or orchard), eggs & cheese. Most of the meats, pasta, rice, breads, canned goods, and other staples are donated.

The problem at the playground for 3 days was instigated by a few kids who spread the word that a fight was planned at the playground…resulting in a mob of kids from the Jr High & High school—gathered on sidewalks, in the streets, in the playground, under the pavilion, on the courts & bleachers, in private yards and on nearby porches and outside the church—loitering with foul language, ma*****na smoking, minimal clothes, unfiltered music, lots of trash, racing motor bikes at times, and riding e-bikes, scooters & bikes onto the court weaving between players & through stop signs on the streets, and even kids packed in cars driven by slightly older kids. On Tuesday, kids skipped school: others met after school. Neighbors called the police multiple times, then the instigators scattered…but came back again. On Tuesday, officers responded to complaints and everyone was sent home around dusk. We will not tolerate this behavior at 6th Street. On Sunday, the power to the lights was shut off. The police chief will advise when the court lights will be turned on…and it certainly won’t be before days/weeks pass without officers needing to babysit your children. We need parents to step up. And kids to grow up.
