Stories are powerful! They can pass down narratives from generation to generation. They can captivate a room. They can move donors in a grant proposal.

Here are a few tips from an NPR post. If you want to put these tips into action and sharpen your story telling skills, come check us out! 🗣

Storytelling creates connections and builds community. In this episode of Life Kit, storytelling coaches from The Moth give a step-by-step guide to telling good stories.

How long you've been in Lebanon Toastmasters: Since April of 2015

Why you joined Lebanon Toastmasters AND/OR how you've benefited from Toastmasters: I joined toastmasters to be more confident when talking with employers when I was a job developer. Toastmasters has been something that's helped me get more comfortable speaking without practice, facilitating meetings, and giving/ receiving feedback. It's a friendly, supportive environment and a safe place to make mistakes. :)

Favorite hobby: Podcasts, running, yoga, listening to music, arts and crafts, watching my favorite shows (like the Office)

Favorite animal: Cats and sharks

Favorite quote: "When the elephants fight, it's the grass that suffers". - African Proverb

(I have a lot of favorite quotes! )

How long you've been in Lebanon Toastmasters: Joined 1 May 2020

Why you joined Lebanon Toastmasters AND/OR how you've benefited from Toastmasters:

I had heard Lebanon Toastmasters was a small but mighty club, after attending a couple of times I realised this was true, joined and have not looked back. I am a dual member with another club

I have benefited with knowledge, had varied roles, learned so much about different people and how they live, how they work, what makes them tick.

Toastmasters has given me a chance to speak on anything possible at the drop of a hat, literally ! I can now write well constructed speeches, also to give and receive evaluations and encouragement. Toastmasters is like a family you like being around.

Favorite hobby: Encaustic wax painting, singing, walking in nature, taking photos. Reading.

Favorite animal: Cats and Butterflies

Favorite quote... 1..If someone offers you a fantastic opportunity, say yes. Then figure out how to do it afterwards

2..If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants

3.. If it is not possible, let me make it so
