Earlier this week, we had the honor of conducting a ribbon cutting for the new Connected Community Facility at the Wilson County Fair - TN State Fair!

Located on the Fairgrounds, this new building serves as both a Wi-Fi Connectivity and First Aid facility, providing an important resource for Fair guests and the community.

This project is a major milestone for Wilson County and Tennessee — featuring the largest public Wi-Fi project in the state and the first of its kind in Tennessee. We are excited to see how this investment in connectivity will benefit Fair guests and our community for years to come.

Guests heard from:
• Randall Clemmons, President of Wilson County Promotions
• Helen McPeak, former Executive Director of Wilson County Promotions
• Taylre Beaty, TN Broadband Rural Development Director, who shared insight into the Wi-Fi Connectivity Grant process
• Kasey Krueger, CEO of DeKalb Telephone Cooperative
• David Garrett, building contractor with Rubicon Construction

Thank you to everyone whose vision, leadership, and hard work helped bring this innovative project to life. We are proud to celebrate this exciting addition to the Wilson County Fairgrounds and the continued investment in our community!

🌾 Yesterday, we had the privilege of attending the 32nd Annual Wilson County Century Farm Luncheon at the Wilson County Fair - TN State Fair

This special tradition celebrates the families and farms that have helped shape Wilson County’s rich agricultural heritage. This year, we were proud to join in recognizing The Guethlein Farm, established in 1901, for more than a century of farming, family, and dedication to our community.

Congratulations to the Guethlein family on this incredible milestone! We are grateful for the generations of farmers who continue to preserve Wilson County’s agricultural heritage and contribute so much to our community and state. 🚜🌾

Yesterday, we had a great time volunteering at the Wilson County Fair - TN State Fair Senior Day Picnic!

Senior Day is always a special tradition at the Fair, giving guests ages 60+ the opportunity to enjoy discounted admission, early gate entry, special activities, refreshments, and vendors catering specifically to seniors.

The event also provided vendors with the opportunity to share information about their organizations, connect with attendees, and highlight the valuable resources and services available to seniors throughout our community.

Guests also enjoyed delicious grilled cheese sandwiches prepared by the Electric Griddle by MTE, which were a big hit throughout the afternoon!

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day a success. We loved seeing so many smiling faces enjoying fellowship, learning about local organizations, and experiencing all the fun the Fair has to offer!

🌾🚜 This morning, we had the privilege of attending the Wilson County Farmers Appreciation Breakfast at the Wilson County Fair - TN State Fair

We are incredibly grateful for the hardworking farmers who help feed our families, strengthen our economy, preserve our agricultural heritage, and contribute so much to the success of our community and state. Today was a wonderful opportunity to recognize and celebrate all they do.

Guests heard updates and remarks from Terry McPeak, a Fair update from Wilson County Fair – Tennessee State Fair President Randall Clemmons, remarks from Willis Jepson - Tennessee's 2026 Farm Family of the Year and Andy Holt - Tennessee Commissioner of Agriculture, followed by a keynote address from Alex Snodgrass - 2025 State 4-H Council President.

Attendees also enjoyed a delicious breakfast provided by Shoney's Lebanon while gathering with fellow members of Wilson County's agricultural community.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible, and most importantly, thank you to our farmers for your dedication and commitment to feeding Tennessee and beyond. We appreciate you today and every day!
