It's going to be cold out there. Be prepared.
Together, let's develop a list of things we can do to prepare for the cold. I'll start:
1. Dress in layers to help stay warm.
2. In case the power goes out, charge all of your devices now.
3. If you have alternative heat and the power goes out, only open the refrigerator door when necessary and for a short period of time. Alternatively, place items in a cooler, and store on the porch, in a garage, even the basement.
4. Check on your loved ones, the elderly, and people living alone.
5. Stay indoors if possible.
6. Have flashlights, oil lamps handy in case of power outages.
7. Have extra blankets available.
8. Limit exposed skin area. Wear a hat , gloves ,scarf. Bundled up.
Place your suggestions in the comments.

Ways to Avoid Frozen Pipes/ GF Bowman
Locate the main water shut off valve in your home…just in case you need to shut it off in a hurry. Tell your family members where it is, too. If you need help locating your main water shut off valve, call us.
Eliminate sources of cold air near water lines by closing off crawl spaces, fixing drafty windows, using doorstoppers, etc.
Where pipes are exposed to cold, wrap them with insulation or heat tape.
Leave all interior doors in home open allowing heat to circulate in all zones.
Open cabinet doors to expose plumbing pipes that back up to outside walls. This will let warm air flow inside the cabinet space.
Keep water moving through pipes by allowing a small trickle of water to run.
Pipes that freeze year after year should be repositioned to an area to prevent freezing.
