IN MEMORY OF ROBERT FORD. The MCHS Baseball Boosters received today a generous and unanticipated donation from a member of the Robert Ford family. Robert died as the Knights were preparing for their State Semi-Final game in Lexington last week. Many recall Robert's own baseball playing days with the Calvary team in the old Church League in the 50s and 60s. Few enjoyed the game of baseball more than Robert. During Robert's later years, Robert's dementia prevented his recollection of a lot of things, but his family says if you wanted to start a conversation with him, all you needed to do was bring up those old baseball playing days with games at Mark Thomas' field and Rev. C.L. Smith as the umpire to bring on a big smile and lots of stories. Baseball . . . what a game. Robert Ford . . . what a fine man. Thanks to his family for their donation in his memory.

Sometimes a picture can say way more than words are capable. Our Knights fell just a few runs short today but OH . . . how proud are we. Just as this photo shows, these young men were united in victory and united in defeat. They've been each other's support system all season and that's the reason they'll go down as the most successful MCHS Baseball team in history. Judging by the number of young ball players who came to Lexington to cheer them on, our Knights have been inspiring. They're just good, solid responsible young men. Thanks to their parents for making them the young men that they are; thanks to their coaches for their encouragement in making them their best selves; and thank you 2017 MCHS Knights for letting all of us in on a ride we won't ever forget. GO KNIGHTS!!!
