Rescuing children from child slavery and poverty in India and providing them a home with much needed love, education, and hope for the future!

Many children in India are forced into slavery and s*x trafficking out of severe poverty. It's our heart's desire to prevent that! Our mission at the Promised Land Children's Home is to sustain a loving, Christ-centered environment in which a child can call home. There are 29 children living at the Promised land, all coming from a heartbreaking past, who have received a renewed life with ongoing

education, *much needed* love tlc, and bright hope for the future. We are working to raise money to take in more children out of desperate situations- the home can take in 12 more precious lives!

Sponsor a Child in the new year!

This is Ramkumar's tragic story-

Ramkumar (age 14) lives in India.
Ramkumar is an only child. Because his mother became infected with leprosy, his father left her and Ramkumar three years ago and remarried. Ramkumar’s mother worked temporary jobs to try to pay their house’s rent, and to earn money for food. If there was a day she couldn’t go to work, then that day they couldn’t eat. She couldn’t make enough money to support all of her and Ramkumar’s needs. She told us, “I am very poor, and I could not give him three meals each day, so please, take my son into your home. … if my son stays at your home he will be healthy, and he will study, and he will grow up in good ways.”

For only a dollar a day $30 (partial) or $60 (full) sponsorship you can provide for Ramkumar to live at the Promised Land Home. At the Home he will have all his needs cared for, education and tutoring, and a loving atmosphere . Living at the home will give him bright hope for the future and enable him to pursue his dreams. Some 2017 pictures at the Promised Land Children's Home! ❤️

The children are doing well and excelling at school thanks to faithful ICII sponsors who make this Home possible! All of these children come from leprosy colonies-
Children who live at leprosy colonies in India dwell among the poorest of the poor on the face of the earth. Although they live among those with leprosy, and are at higher risk, most never contract the disease. Even so, they are considered outcasts, facing a lifetime of total rejection as an "untouchable". They have no hope of ever having an education, a good job, or a bright future. Sometimes such children are kidnapped to be sold as slaves. Many girls are forced into prostitution at a young age, and boys become thieves or drug dealers to try to escape the poverty-filled life.

Independent Church in India's Promised Land Children's Home was established with the vision to provide a loving home to children whose parents or guardians are victims of leprosy and cannot care for them.

By the grace of God, these young lives have been totally changed. Once they were hopeless and empty inside, suffering physically with hunger and poverty as well as emotionally with shame and rejection because of a disease they don't even have. But now, living at the Promised Land, the children have their needs met, and receive the love they deserve. Their eyes are bright with hope and their hearts are joyful!

The children are supported through monthly financial commitments by caring sponsors around the world. Those who are sponsoring our children know how much the Lord has changed the children's lives and given them joy at the Promised Land!

Before coming to live at the Promised Land, many of our children were never able to celebrate Christmas. This past year, Esther, Deepalexmi, and Jasmine celebrated Christmas with us for the first time… What joy!

Meet Kavi Priya, She was rescued from s*x slavery...
Kavi Priya (Kavi) is such bright and energetic little flower! She turns 9 years old this year. Before coming to live at the Promised Land Home, Kavi had a very rough, heart breaking life. At age 4, her father was murdered by poison, leaving her mother a widow. In their culture, widows are considered cursed by the gods and are often unable to find work. Her mother could not provide for Kavi or herself, and they regularly went days without food. When a brothel owner offered shelter and food in exchange for Kavi’s mother to work for him pr******te, her mother felt she had no choice but to accept. During this time, beyond her mother’s control, little 4 year old Kavi was often s*xually abused. This went on for four years. When our team found out about this situation we did everything we could to get them out of there. Thanks to faithful sponsors Kavi and her mother now both live at the Promised Land and their lives have been completely renewed!

Each one of these children has a story- from living in severe poverty and starvation to living through the horrors of s*x slavery, these precious lives have gone through more suffering then most of us will ever know.
