Have you ever wondered if what you're doing is really making a difference?
There are times when we all ask that question. We faithfully serve, teach, encourage, and invest in others, yet we don't always get to see the results of our efforts.
Over the past six years, we've had the privilege of providing AWANA training to nearly 85 churches in Papua New Guinea. While it's exciting to see leaders equipped for ministry, we rarely get to witness the long-term impact. We don't often see the children whose lives are changed, the families who are strengthened, or the future church leaders who may have first learned God's Word through those ministries.
Yesterday we received a text from a young man that attended one of our AWANA training sessions in 2021. He, along with two other young men that received the training, went back to their church and started an AWANA club. Here is a picture 2 years later.
God reminds us that our responsibility is to be faithful, while He is responsible for the harvest.
1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
This verse is a wonderful encouragement. Even when we cannot see the fruit of our labor, God can. Every church equipped, every leader encouraged, and every child who hides God's Word in their heart is part of a work that belongs to Him. If you've ever wondered whether your efforts are making a difference, remember this promise: our labor in the Lord is never in vain. God is faithfully working in ways we may never fully see this side of heaven.
More details to follow in our prayer letters.
