Today was an exciting milestone for Lebanon County Christian Ministries as we officially kicked off our Quiet Market Hours Initiative.
This initiative reflects our commitment to creating a more welcoming, accessible, and supportive environment for individuals and families who are neurodivergent. Through thoughtful operational changes and physical enhancements, we are working to reduce sensory barriers and ensure every neighbor can access our services with dignity, comfort, and confidence.
To launch this effort, we brought together an incredible team of community partners and subject matter experts to observe our Market on 7th and provide recommendations that will help shape this initiative. We are deeply grateful to Lancaster-Lebanon IU13, the ASERT Autism Resources, Penn State Health, WellSpan Health, and Trevor Allwein, whose lived experience and passion for inclusion brought invaluable insight to today's discussions.
We are especially excited that Trevor Allwein has chosen LCCM and the Quiet Market Hours Initiative as his Eagle Scout Project (Myerstown Boy Scouts - Troop 20). His leadership and dedication to serving our community will have a lasting impact on the families we serve.
This initiative would not be possible without the generous financial support of United Way of Lebanon County and LCBC Church. Thank you for investing in a vision that makes our community more inclusive and welcoming for everyone.
Our goal is to officially launch Quiet Market Hours in January 2027, and we look forward to sharing updates as we continue this important journey.
Because everyone deserves to experience dignity, belonging, and a place where they feel welcome.
