We Need a Burger Thursday Volunteer!

Have you ever thought about hosting a Burger Thursday at the Lodge? We’re looking for someone to take the lead for next month’s 4th Thursday (September 24th).
And despite the name, you don’t have to make burgers! Get creative and make whatever meal you’d like. Make it even more fun by inviting friends to help you!

How does Burger Thursday work?
You choose the meal and prepare dinner for the Lodge on the 4th Thursday of the month. (We usually estimate about 40 people.)
We like to keep the meals at $5 per plate, and the money collected goes to a charity or nonprofit of your choice. The Elks will send a check on your behalf.

You decide how to handle your food costs. You can either:
• Take your food/ingredient expenses out of the money collected and donate the remaining proceeds, OR
• Donate the food yourself and give 100% of the money raised to your chosen charity.

You choose the cause! It can be a local organization, a national charity, or any cause that’s meaningful to you.

Burger Thursday is a fun, easy way to bring our members together for a meal while raising a little money for a great cause.
We need a volunteer for next month! If you’ve been thinking about getting involved at the Lodge, this is a great way to do it — grab a friend or two and make a night of it!

The Lodge is partnering with the Warren County VA Outreach Center to provide ready-to-use backpacks filled with essential hygiene supplies to homeless or underserved veterans. We need your help! There are two ways to participate - donate and/or volunteer.

The items will be delivered directly to our project leader.

You can also make a financial contribution and we will shop for you. You can use a card with our Zeffy link, https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/operation-dignity-veterans-hygiene-backpacks or you can contribute cash at the Lodge in the club room.

We need all donations to be made by Friday, September 4th please.

We will be assembling the backpacks at the lodge on Saturday, September 12th at 7:00PM. We hope you can join us!
