Today was another busy pantry day, and our shelves are nearly empty once again.

In less than two hours this morning, we served 42 families. While empty shelves may look concerning, they represent food going directly to local families who need it.

Summer is always a busy season for the pantry. With children home from school and grocery costs continuing to rise, we’ve seen our shelves empty faster than usual.

As we begin restocking, our most-needed items are:

• All canned vegetables
• Soups
• Beans
• Breakfast items
• Chef Boyardee
• Canned meats

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue serving our neighbors throughout Russell County.

Donations can be dropped in our 24/7 donation box, purchased through our Amazon Wishlist (linked in comments), or made through our website.

A huge thank you to Green Valley Baptist Church for their thoughtful donation to the pantry!

One of the sweetest things they donated were these birthday cake kits. Each kit includes everything a family needs to celebrate a birthday—cake mix, frosting, candles, sprinkles, and more. 🎂🎉

Food is always important, but being able to help a child or loved one feel celebrated on their special day is something extra special. Thank you for helping bring a little joy along with groceries.

Did you know that the Lebanon Community Food Pantry is completely community-funded?

Every month, we serve approximately 300 local families. While we are blessed with food drives and donations, a large portion of the food we distribute is purchased using monetary donations from people who care about their neighbors.

As you can imagine, those costs add up quickly.

One of the most impactful ways you can help is by becoming a recurring monthly donor and sponsoring a family.

On average, the cost of the staple food items we provide each month is:

• $31.59 for a family of 1–4
• $42.79 for a family of 4–6
• $48.41 for a family of 6+

Recurring monthly donations help us plan ahead, keep our shelves stocked, and ensure we can continue serving the nearly 300 families who count on us each month.

To help provide stability for the pantry, our goal is to find 25 individuals, families, churches, or businesses willing to become recurring monthly donors. These recurring gifts help ensure we can continue serving local families month after month.

🍎🤍 A huge thank you to our friends at Church Hill Methodist Church for hosting an apple drive for us!

Because of their generosity, we received enough apples to provide them to 42 local families. Fresh produce is always a special treat for the families we serve, and donations like these help us offer nutritious options alongside pantry staples.
