Thank you Lane for supporting New Beginnings! 💚🤍🍀

News coming out of Boone county about another awesome CIB exhibitor!

Lane Merrill, a Freshman at Western Boone High School donated the meat from his Boone County Reserve Grand Champion Barrow to the Thorntown New Beginnings Food Pantry.

Lane exhibited both the Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Barrows at the 2026 Boone County 4-H Fair. After showing his pigs at the Indiana State Fair and finishing 4th place in the Indiana Pork Junior All-Around Skill-a-thon Series, Lane was inspired to donate meat to his local food pantry.

This donation provides over 170 pounds of pork to his neighbors in need. The inspiration came from being a contender for the $10,000 drawing won by Casey Schillinger.

While Lane didn’t win this contest, he loved the idea of providing pork to his community. Help us give Lane a big ATTA GUY! 🙌

🥫💙 Making a Difference, One Meal at a Time!

We’re excited to share photos from a recent Million Meal Movement distribution in Boone County!

Thanks to the IU Health Community Outreach team and their partnership with Million Meal Movement, 22 cases of macaroni and cheese meal kits were assembled and delivered to food pantries throughout Boone County.

Each case contains 36 meal packets, with each packet serving approximately 6 people—that’s 4,752 potential meals headed to local families and neighbors in need! 🙌

We’re grateful for partnerships like these that help strengthen our community and support local food pantries. 💚
