Good music. Good people. A great reason to come together!

Join us for Sound Good Do Good at The Listening Room Cafe on Wednesday October 21 at 6PM! Kissy Timmer, Alison Nichols, Michael James, Camden Morris, and kylie sackley are sharing their music for a night benefitting Volunteer Network.

Four years ago, Volunteer Network grew from a simple belief: when we connect people ready to serve with the needs of our neighbors, we can do more good together—every day and in times of disaster. Since then, you’ve helped us connect volunteers with nonprofits, take on community projects, and show up when disasters and extreme weather hit Wilson County.

Now it’s time to celebrate what we’ve done together and help keep that work going into 2027!

What a wonderful night at East Nashville B**r Works! We are so grateful to everyone who came out on a Monday night to eat, gather, laugh, and support the work of Volunteer Network.

But looking through these pictures, we’re especially reminded that Volunteer Network has always been about the people.

To the volunteers who have given countless hours—whether serving at an Inclement Weather Shelter, responding after a disaster, helping with a community project, serving with another nonprofit, or simply saying, “What do you need?”—thank you. You are the heart of this work.

To our Board of Directors, who give their own time, open doors, make connections, spread the word, and continue believing in what is possible when a community works together—thank you!

And to the family and friends who showed up tonight—not just to support an organization, but to support the people behind it—your presence meant more than you know. ❤️

A huge thank you to East Nashville B**r Works Wilson County for hosting us and generously giving back to Volunteer Network. We are grateful for community partners who believe in investing in work that brings people together.

Tonight was a fundraiser, but it also felt a whole lot like a celebration—a celebration of volunteers, partnerships, friendships, and a community that continues to prove:

This September, you can help stock a food pantry, deliver furniture and household essentials to families, support the Habitat ReStore, serve at a free clothing store, assist with food distribution, care for unhoused neighbors, and more!

When disaster strikes, our neighbors need help quickly—and Volunteer Network makes sure people are ready to respond. During this year’s winter storm, we helped coordinate over 260 volunteers who served over 750 hours of volunteer service.

That same spirit of service continues year-round as we connect volunteers with more than 50 nonprofits, schools, churches, and organizations across Wilson County.

Join us Monday from 5:00–9:00 p.m. at East Nashville B**r Works, where 10% of proceeds will benefit Volunteer Network. Your additional donation will help keep our community connected, prepared, and ready to serve when our neighbors need us most.

Volunteer Network extends our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Suzi McCoy.

Suzi was a devoted leader in our community, serving through many organizations and especially through her leadership with Wilson County Christmas for All.

From the beginning, Suzi was a wonderful supporter of Volunteer Network. She helped recruit organizations and volunteers to utilize our online platform, and she faithfully served through our Inclement Weather Shelters. She understood what it meant to show up for her community—and she did so generously and often.

When we serve others, the impact of our lives continues in the hearts of those we’ve touched long after our time here is done. **Suzi’s life is a beautiful example of that kind of legacy.**

For those who wish to remember and celebrate Suzi, a service will be held **Sunday at 2:00p.m. at Melrose Church, located within Fiddlers Grove at the Fairgrounds.**

The Volunteer Network community celebrates Suzi’s life and gives thanks for people like her—people who give their time, their hearts, and themselves in service to others. She will be deeply missed.

It is with our heaviest hearts that we announce the passing of one of our dearest friends and beloved board members, Suzi McCoy, who left us on Friday, August 21st.

To know Suzi was to love her. She had an energy that no one could match and a passion for everything she did. That passion was evident in the countless ways she served and gave back to the Wilson County community.

Suzi was not only a dedicated board member of Wilson County Christmas for All, but also gave her time and heart to Rehab 23, Volunteer Network, Fiddler’s Grove, and so many other organizations and causes throughout our community. She was also a proud Air Force veteran.

Suzi had a heart for people and a desire to make a difference wherever she could. Her presence, her energy, her laughter, and her unwavering dedication will leave a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She will be deeply missed not only by all of us at Wilson County Christmas for All, but by our entire community.

Please keep Suzi’s family, friends, and all of those who loved her in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Thank you, Suzi, for everything you gave to our community and to all of us. Your legacy of love and service will live on. ❤️🕊️

Thank you to Wilson County Community Help Center and Lebanon Senior Citizens Center for helping with providing lunch for our Cooling Center yesterday!

And thank you to Wilson Rides Inc. and BJ's Wholesale Club for donating brand new sets of towels for our guests to shower and delicious and refreshing watermelon!

We can’t do what we do without the support of the community and having our nonprofit community wrap around these efforts makes all the difference!

Thank you, Veronica Leah Anderson, Gaye Lynn Wilson, and Heather for being shining stars of service!

And thank you to our amazing volunteers for making these shelters possible. Yesterday we had 18 people staying safe and cool! They received lunch, dinner, water, Gatorade, fruit, snacks, a cool and safe environment to beat the heat, and to go boxes to take with them!

And, of course, thank you to Wilson County Emergency Management Agency and Lebanon First United Methodist Church for partnering together to make this weekend possible!

There are so many gaps for us to fill to ensure our community has the resources they need, but these shelters are an amazing example of what can happen when we see a need and we step up to meet it!
