We had the most beautiful hike at Jefferson Memorial Forest, led by Michele, Annie, and Laura. Weather was perfect. Julie, Petra and Greg took beautiful pictures. As Julie mused: "In every walk with nature, one receives more than he (one) seeks" (John Muir). Always thank you to all, so pleasant to hike together. πŸ’š We might add more pictures.

We had a special hike at Clifty Falls with the Cincinnati Hiking Club on Kentucky Derby Day. We took the bus, 🚌 arrived at the North Gate, had a pleasant lunch, the sun warming us up. 🌞 We also bet as if we were at Churchill Downs! 🐴 Thanks to Pat for managing the whole event, including the bets! Thank you to Greg, the most reliable sweep, taking pictures as well! 🌿 Thanks to the leaders who made sure it was an enjoyable day for all, each with their own ability. Thank you to the Officers, planning this day in advance. Thank you to all who gave a hand. We finished at the Clifty Inn with a wonderful dinner. See you next time!

We had a very nice hike at Elm Lick (Bernheim Forest). We moved cohesively down to the creek, past the hollow Sycamore Tree (see below), then worked our way out through two more hills. Rain was approaching just as we left. Mushrooms were thriving! Thanks to Greg, who took such amazing pictures!! πŸ„πŸ„β€πŸŸ« More pictures may be added. We had another sweet hike, led by Annie and Michele. We went into meandering trails, enjoying the sun, friends, funny stories, recipes, and plans. One box turtle waited until we passed, so they could march on into the woods. More pictures may follow. Always thank you to the officers who make it happen week by week, and each and every one, all helping at any point and making sure we all enjoy and make it back safely.

We the Club went to Spring Mill State Park! Gorgeous weather, amazing hike of three trails, around 9 miles total. Thank you to Scott our leader and Larry for scouting out and leading our hikers. Special thank you to Greg for the pictures and for sharing the story! Lots of sunshine, old-growth trees, rushing streams, and huge, impressive caves. The old historic village was a gem, what with an old working wood mill. So cool to see it, and the moving parts inside the building. Loved the old stone old school leather shop and all the old shops. It's a place you've got to check out! So yes, thank you to the officers, the hikers, the leaders, everybody gives, everybody makes a difference, we love hiking together.

Twenty-eight hikers were brave enough and hiked with its over slippery snow patches, slid on mud covered with leaves and braved cold creek waters to make it back to their cars. Thank you all for joining us on this special Sunday afternoon!
