Kansas City Horn Club

Kansas City Horn Club The Kansas City Horn Club (501(c)(3)), founded in 2013, is a community ensemble of 60 horn players ages 12 to 80 and beyond.

With youth and adult groups, KCHC presents spring and holiday concerts and performs at community and local sporting events. It all started with a dream to bring horn players from throughout the diverse area of Kansas City together to share in their love of music and desire to play the horn. In February of 2013 Stacy Lendt and Natalie Higgins, two area horn performers and educators, met to put this

dream into action. With a vision to create a unique environment to promote outreach and unity among the horn community, the club kicked off its introductory year with three themed events: The Good, The Bad, and the Horn, A Haunted Horn Day and Horns A Plenty Christmas. Reaching over 100 horn players s of all ages and walks of life, these events provided masterclasses by distinguished horn professionals, clinics by entrepreneurs successful in the music field, and performances by University horn choirs and members of the club. As the club embarks on the second phase of its journey, it hopes to expand its reach to provide inspirational programs, funding in the form of scholarships, and events for the areas’ younger generation of musicians.

The KC Horn Club Youth Ensemble was honored to perform at the Future Stages Festival at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts for the third time!

From warm-ups backstage to the final performance, these young musicians demonstrated tremendous dedication, growth, and teamwork. We are incredibly proud of the hard work they put into preparing for this opportunity.

Thank you to the Kauffman Center, our families, volunteers, and supporters for helping make this experience possible. Most of all, congratulations to these outstanding students on a wonderful performance. Your hard work paid off, and you deserve to be celebrated!
