According to the American Cancer Society, lung cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide. In the episode from The Recovery Room, she explains how our lungs work, lung cancer symptoms, and what type of screenings are available. About 9 out of 10 people with lung cancer die from it because cancer is found after it has spread past the lungs. Hquip wants to help others in stopping the spread by offering lung cancer screenings to potential patients at critical access hospitals.

Japanese pharma company Takeda Pharmaceutical Co (4502.T) said on Wednesday the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved its drug, Exkivity, to treat a type of lung cancer.

Takeda said the approval was based on an early-to-mid-stage trial testing 114 patients with non-small cell lung cancer, with results showing clinically meaningful responses with a median duration of about 18 months.
