Got any spare pumpkins in your garden? We could use them at the Community Cupboard! We're hoping to get some before Halloween for local families.

Donations (of any kind!) can be dropped off during the Cupboard's regular hours: Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

ONE MORE WEEK until the deadline to apply for a new home in Leavenworth Cottages!
Upper Valley MEND is accepting applications until Thursday, October 15 for Leavenworth Cottages, four 2-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom homes currently under construction in a mixed-income neighborhood in Leavenworth. Each home is priced at $275,000; homebuyers must qualify for MEND's homeownership program to be considered.

“Most of our daily interactions with folks are going to be on a small scale, but if we're able to help many people in small ways, it can have a large impact,” said Upper Valley MEND Social Worker Liz Hazen.

We want to thank one of Leavenworth's newest events for supporting MEND! The B**r Gut Brat Butt 1k gave participants a chance to explore downtown Leavenworth with food, drinks, swag and discounts at local businesses! Thank you to Beneva Johnson and Rob Sauer for organizing, Stein for being the operational headquarters, and The Cheesemonger's Shop, Leavenworth Wok About Grill, King Ludwigs German Restaurant, Ken West and Ann Spratt for sponsoring the event!

Update 9.29.26: Unfortunately construction in the 14th Street Alley (where Das Thrift's donation window is located) is taking longer than expected. We truly apologize for the inconvenience, although we're already seeing how much better the alley will be once the work is done!

Currently the estimated completion date is Friday, October 2. We will let you know as soon as the alley reopens.

In the meantime, Das Thrift is still taking donations next to their back door at 211 14th Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
