The PVAW Summer Planning Committee have put together another summer full of fun exploring our local valley, learning new skills and enjoying our fabulous community of women. We are a volunteer led group of women. All our hosts have volunteered their time to share their passions with us.

This year we are offering an April event that is open to anyone who is interested. We will be going to Derby Canyon Natives, a local nursery that grows native plants specific to our area. This event is on April 15th from 11-1pm, followed by lunch in Leavenworth. This is a great opportunity to get acquainted with some of our local women, learn about native plants and buy a few for your garden! It’s also a preview of our summer program!

Plain Valley Adventure Women finished their Classic Ski Clinic Session yesterday.

Whether you are a new skier or someone who has been on skis for many years our ski clinics work on fundamentals for all levels, most importantly we have fun skiing. Our instructors are passionate about skiing and have many years of ski and instructional experience. They volunteer their time and expertise to our PVAW community. Our low registration fees go directly to support the Plain Valley Nordic Teams’s Ski Education Programs (PVNT). PVNT subsidizes the program fees so that all children in our community are able to participate in our ski programs.

PVAW will begin our Skate Ski Clinics next Tuesday. There are still spots available! Register today at --> https://plainvalleyskitrails.regfox.com/pvaw2026-womens-ski-clinic

Highlights from today's Grooming Report:

The forecast today is for temperatures in the mid 30's under cloudy skies with a chance for some light snow this afternoon. It's great day to get out and enjoy some FRESH SNOW!

We got the snow that we've been patiently asking for in the form of 10-12 inches on most of the trails! The challenging news is that the temperatures barely got to freezing and the snow compacted very easily, but didn't freeze into the base like we need it to. We have done our best and were out last night roller packing (sintering, trying to form it into a solid mass and take the air out) the entire trail system to help make a solid base.

We are temporarily opening up the rest of the trails in the Mill Hill Complex which means that Chainsaw Ridge (with an alternative connector, look for the signs to avoid melted thin spots), Lumi Lane and Cougar Run are now OPEN, but still use caution as it is still thin and bumpy with potential wet spots under the trees.

Don't forget the Full Moon Ski is this Saturday from 6-8pm at Meadow Loop Trail! Thank you to the Plain Valley Adventure Women for hosting this FREE event.

Plain Valley Ski Trails Kids Clinic Overview

This clinic is designed especially for kids between the ages of 6-12 yrs old. The primary goal is to have fun cross country skiing. Kids learn best at this age through play, games, and skill development. This clinic is appropriate for kids who are first time skiers and for kids who have been skiing and need FUN sprinkled into their time on cross country skis. You can choose individual Saturdays or a full season.

All kids will have the opportunity to race in the Washington Nordic Cup (WNC) series if they desire. This is a race series for all abilities and its mission is to create a fun, affordable, and low cost race for all ages.

This Clinic is taught by our team of Devo Coaches. All have a Level 1 Certification either through PSIA (Professional Ski Instructor Certification) or USSA (United States Ski Association), with 4 or more years of experience working with kids.

Clinic Cost:
Children 6-12yr $60 for 2 hours of FUN on skis Saturdays 10am-12pm. Season $500

All KIDS SKI FREE on Plain Valley Ski Trails, BUT still need Trail Passes for Liability! Please be sure to secure your pass prior to the clinic at SkiPlain.com
