Camper families, we had another wet evening in the Frio Canyon for Singing Hills and Echo Valley last night. Thankfully, before the rain returned, the Echo Valley campers competed in a “protect your counselor” obstacle course with their cabin mates, and the Singing Hills campers had a rave dance party in the Ranch House.

During the night, there was steady rain falling with short breaks from time to time. However, we did not experience any significant rise in the river, and the river currently remains at near-normal levels. Again, the team was monitoring and communicating throughout the night. Our Operations team started early this morning to clear debris from the roads. Consequently, River Road is now open to both Singing Hills and Echo Valley. And the good news is, the forecast for today shows light rain in the morning with the skies clearing in the afternoon. We are ready for a dry and restful weekend!

Camper and staff families, the rain continues to fall on Echo Valley and Singing Hills, but the campers had a good breakfast. The rain has slowed, and staff are facilitating creative activities.

At Singing Hills they are playing an indoor game of Human Foosball, and there may be a shaving cream fight this afternoon depending on the weather. An indoor Trivia Competition is planned for back up.

The Echo Valley campers participated in their morning devotional times after breakfast, and this afternoon the activities at Echo Valley will include Ranch House P.E., Cheer Off, and some time at Sugar Shack.

We are keeping a close watch on all weather, rain, and flood monitoring systems. After all of the rain we have experienced, the river level is only two feet higher than its resting level. This slight river rise is not encroaching on Echo Valley or Singing Hills. Everyone is safe. Additionally, we are working to stay attuned to the needs of both staff and campers as they enjoy camp in the rain.

Camper and staff families, last night Echo Valley and Singing Hills stayed safe throughout the storm. We had a team of support staff monitoring and responding to the weather throughout the evening. We closed River Road shortly after 3:00 am, and all campers and staff were accounted for prior to closing River Road.

We are monitoring several weather services, which are predicting the heavy rains will end around noon today.

Since 5:00 pm last evening, we have received around two inches of rain in the Canyon, and at 6:00 am the River Road is roughly one foot above its normal height. We are anticipating the river will continue to rise and are prepared.

Staff will be grateful for hot coffee this morning! We are preparing for another day of indoor activities.

Dear camper families, at 3:30 am we closed River Road in anticipation of a manageable river rise according to our rain gauges and river flow data. All campers are safe and accounted for. We will continue to watch the weather closely and will update you again in the morning.

Camp and staff families, we are grateful for another great day at camp. The Frio River levels at Echo Valley and Singing Hills are at normal heights, and River Road has remained open and drivable.

Our campers and seasonal staff are unplugged and free from the news cycle many of us have faced on our phones and feeds. At the same time, our leadership team stays very plugged in to the weather and river conditions, as well as the storm's impact on other parts of Texas.

Please join us in praying for all of those downstream from us along the Nueces, Frio, and Guadalupe who are experiencing flooding and storm damage. We pray for their safety. We pray for them to feel God's perfect love in the midst of anxiety.

We are expecting the rain to return this evening. Less than an inch is forecast for our area, and we will continue to watch all weather and flood monitoring systems diligently. Systems that we built this spring — real-time river monitoring, the PA system, and muster zones — are working well, and staff are ready if conditions change.

Dear parents, it's been a good day at Singing Hills and Echo Valley so far, with lots of rainy-day activities—tomahawk throwing, archery, and hot wheels racing.

As of noon today, our upstream watershed has averaged just over four inches of rain this week. The river at Echo Valley is currently 1.2 feet above normal. No rapid rises or flood concerns are indicated at this time. River Road remains open and drivable.

We continue to be aware of the severe weather forecasts issued by the National Weather Service yesterday and last night. Please pray for those communities that are seeing the worst impacts of this storm, including our friends in Boerne.
