Ever wonder how sidewalk repairs are handled in League City? The City’s Public Works Streets Department has a dedicated in-house crew that repairs and replaces damaged sidewalks throughout the community.

Each sidewalk service request is reviewed by the Streets Supervisor, who determines whether the repair will be completed by City crews or assigned to a contracted concrete company based on the scope of work and scheduling needs.

When a sidewalk requires full replacement (as seen in the photo), crews first remove the damaged concrete panels. The base underneath is then carefully regraded to ensure the new sidewalk aligns properly with the surrounding sections. This process helps create a smooth, even, and safer walking surface for residents.

We are pleased to inform you that the Phase 2 Fence Staining Project will commence next Tuesday, March 17. The project will begin with pressure washing, followed by necessary repairs, and conclude with staining. This work is expected to take place over the course of two weeks, weather permitting.

PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE 🚨
Recently, with the nice weather, there has been a noticeable increase in children and teenagers riding bicycles, E-bikes, and dirt bikes in League City.

We want to remind parents and their children that motorized vehicles such as dirt bikes, motorcycles, ATVs/4-wheelers, and golf carts are NOT allowed on sidewalks, jogging paths, or park trails. All riders, including E-bike riders, must follow traffic laws when in the roadway, especially stopping at stop signs and yielding for pedestrians. Parents are encouraged to speak with their children about safe riding practices.

As a reminder, violations are misdemeanors and may result in fines up to $500. In response to recent concerns, LCPD will be increasing patrols in these areas to help keep our parks and roadways safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Dear Brittany Lakes Residents:

A project has just begun by MUD 6 to remediate erosion (with riprap) along the shoreline of Willow Pond. The work is expected to take two to four months to complete, weather permitting.

During the project, there will be large construction machinery and materials near Willow Pond. Construction will occur only during the hours permitted by the City of League City (7 AM – 6 PM). There is a possibility that crews may work on weekends, but the Association will notify residents in advance as communication is received from the contractor.

While the contractors will do their utmost to minimize disruption, please remember that this is an active construction zone. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

• Portions of the sidewalk are inaccessible to pedestrian traffic.
• Orange temporary fencing has demarcated closed areas. For your safety, please avoid entering these fenced zones.
• There may be partial road closures as equipment is delivered and removed. Please drive carefully and be mindful of vehicles, equipment, and increased pedestrian traffic in the area.

We understand that construction may be an inconvenience, especially for those living nearby. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as MUD 6 and their contractors work to complete this important project safely and effectively.

Brittany Lakes HOA will be hosting a 4th of July Golf Cart/Bike Parade this Saturday evening, June 29, 2024. The parade will be traveling throughout the community, along the same route that was used for the holiday golf cart/bike parade (see map). The parade starting and ending point will be at the Brittany Lakes Recreation Center located at 2112 Brittany Lakes Drive. Line up will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the parade will start promptly at 5:00 p.m.
We are encouraging participants to dress up their bike or golf cart, as well as inviting all families and friends to join along the route to enjoy the parade! Remember, state and local golf cart rules of the road must be strictly adhered to. Additionally, adult beverages are not permitted. However, candy and/or giveaways during the parade are welcomed and encouraged!
