Public Works will begin working in 96 today at Brittany Lakes and Fennigan to add a traffic Light-as an attempt to aid traffic to Baurschlagg. Traffic will be reduced to one lane at times to complete this work. Please anticipate more time to get through that area until the project is completed. Additional information on this project can be found on the LC website.

It is expected to have additional traffic lights on 96 in the future, the expansion on Landing Blvd and 518 sidewalk.

From the City of League City website:

Trash collection has resumed for League City following the recent winter storm, however, residents should keep in mind that this does NOT include pickup of construction, remodel, repair or demolition debris from burst pipes.

This debris including tile, plywood, carpet, sheet rock, etc., is not considered heavy trash and will NOT be picked up by the City’s solid waste provider, Ameriwaste, if left on the curb. Damage to homes caused by burst pipes is typically covered by Homeowner’s Insurance, including debris removal. You can contact your agent or policy for more information.

City staff is still waiting to hear if FEMA funds will be available to pay for the cost of hiring a company or service to remove construction debris from League City homes that suffered damage from the winter storm. Until that determination is made, League City residents need to be aware that AmeriWaste is not contracted with City to remove constructions debris.

In the meantime, residents can take their construction debris to the following landfills:

Q27 - What should homeowners do when the boil water notice is lifted?

Flush household pipes/faucets first: To flush your plumbing, run all your cold water faucets on full for at least 5 minutes each. If your service connection is long or complex (like in an apartment building) consider flushing for a longer period. Your building superintendent or landlord should be able to advise you on longer flushing times.

Automatic ice makers: Dump existing ice and flush the water feed lines by making and discarding three batches of ice cubes. Wipe down the ice bin with a disinfectant. If your water feed line to the machine is longer than 20 feet, increase to five batches.

Hot water heaters, water coolers, in line filters, and other appliances with direct water connections or water tanks: Run enough water to completely replace at least one full volume of all lines and tanks. If your filters are near the end of their life, replace them.

Water softeners: Run through a regeneration cycle.

Reverse Osmosis (RO) units: Replace pre-filters, check owner's manual.
Replace other water filters, as they are disposable and may be contaminated. This applies especially to carbon filters and others that are near the end of their life.

BOIL WATER NOTICE LIFTED at 3:20 p.m. Sunday February 21
The boil water advisory has been lifted. It is now safe to drink and consume the water.

To be on the safe side, you should run your water for at least one minute to bring clean water into the taps and dump the ice in your ice maker and have it make at least three batches before using the ice.

League City had been under a boil-water notice since Wednesday when the water pressure dropped below the required minimum set by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. When water pressure is low, there's a chance bacteria could form in the water supply.

Water pressure, which was hit hard by last week's extremely cold temperatures, is back to normal and has been tested and ruled safe to drink again.

Additional information can be found on the League City website

BOIL WATER NOTICE STILL IN EFFECT
League City is still on a boil water notice. The City of Houston, which supplies the bulk of our water, is waiting for acceptable bacterial test results required by the State before the notice can be lifted. We should know more later today or early Monday on when the notice will be lifted for League City.

Please refer to the League City website for additional information.
