Thanks to Trees For Houston (Barry Ward) has donated 10 beautiful Live Oaks to the Galveston County Parks Department for Walter Hall Park on behalf of our Garden Club.. They were delivered to President Jamie Hart's home while the Park Department got final approval thru the County.
Last week was the pick up day. They will be planted soon. We are so happy to be the liaison in getting our own County park more Live Oaks to replace the old ones lost throughout the years from various storms. Cuddos to member Tamara Williams for making the initial contact to the County Parks Department and Jimmy Gibson, team lead at Walter Hall Park!

What a Rewarding Day the League City Garden Club had at the Bay Area Swap & Shop!!! We hosted a kiddos planting table, had a super successful fundraiser, shared gardening and plant knowledge, met some amazing folks and laughed! What more could you ask for? A really big shout out to all the members that grew and shared soil and plants, especially the ones that came out to support. We have a big following and our community is so supportive! We are so proud to give back in big ways♡

Today was a day of remembrance. We honored the memory of two of our matriarchs, Julie Frisbee Engleman and Manon Poole, with a tree planting ceremony in Walter Hall Park. Friends and family gathered on this glorious day. The trees were planted by the pond in their honor. We each shared heartfelt sentiments. Family members tied pink satin bows on their trees.

🌱Want to grow your plant collection and connect with fellow plant lovers? Then join us for the Bay Area Plant Exchange Swap & Shop!

We are proud to partner with the Bay Area Plant Exchange to host this biannual event on Saturday, April 4, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center (400 West Walker St.).

Bring plants you want to swap with others and a wagon for transporting. No plants? No problem! There will be vendors selling plants and other garden items.

And don’t miss the “plant orphan” table, where you can adopt free plants donated by generous swappers and vendors.

See you there! 🌸🪴
