“In summary, your donation has impacted the lives of at least 146 residents of this county. 5
children (and their families) who received a Christmas they wouldn't otherwise have, 140
bellies filled of the hungry, and 1 Deputy Constable who had the absolute honor of being the recipient of your kindness and generosity.”

This is an excerpt from an impact statement from one of the organizations we partnered with this Christmas to continue affecting the lives of those in Galveston County.

The Foundation was excited to present a check for $1000 this year to the Galveston County Food Bank, participating in the Del Papa gift match that is currently underway. Ken Clark was a firm believer that no one should go hungry, and wanted his legacy to be one of helping those with food insecurity in the Galveston County area. In the coming year, we have identified other organizations who we thought would be a fit with Ken’s ideals and the Foundations mission. Please consider donating to this great cause, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Although not every board member on the Foundation directly participated with the Galveston County Fair and Rodeo or Galveston County 4-H, each realized the impact on Galveston County youth and the Clark children specifically.

Along with the knowledge that your blood 🩸 donation is providing another individual with a chance to extend or benefit their life; you also benefit by lowering your cholesterol, decreasing your risk of cancer, and blood iron level.

We are so excited having our partnerships panning out and fulfilling the legacy my father left. His enduring Christian faith was passed on to his children and they are excited to continue doing the good work that he started. If you haven’t been able to make it out to the Cajun fest before, make this your year! We will be hosting a blood drive with the blood bank and a diaper drive with Anchor Point. If you aren’t able to make it out, we ask that you consider donating to the Galveston County Food Bank, they one of our primary partnering organizations. Dad always said, “people like to eat everyday, most of them at least 3 times a day.”

The CKCWFY Foundation is pleased to announce that we were able to give $9,000 in scholarships to Galveston area graduating seniors.

Three of the scholarship recipients were active in Galveston County 4-H, showed livestock for at least two years, were active in community service projects and leadership roles, and had been accepted into a higher education program.

Madyson McAshlan received $5,000. She will be attending West Texas A&M where she will be studying Agriculture, Communication, and Media.

William Smith has been accepted to the UHCL where he will study Construction Management. He received a scholarship for $1,000.

Taylor Higgs also received $1,000. She plans to attend Tarlton for a degree in Agricultural Business minoring in Poultry Science.

Our next group of scholarship recipients were home school graduates who demonstrated proficiency in their desired area of studies and similarly were active in community service and leadership and were accepted into an institution of higher education.

William Smith received another $1,000 scholarship as a homeschool recipient.

Emma Allen received a $500 scholarship. She currently attends College of the Mainland but will be transferring to Alvin Community College to pursue her Associate’s degree in Nursing.

Macy Yarnold also received a $500 scholarship. She will be attending the UHCL where she plans to complete her studies in Fine Arts and Graphic Design.

The scholarship selection committee was very impressed with each of the applicants. God willing, we will be able to award more students funds to pursue their educational goals next year.
