Welp, here's another month when life got the best of me and I've fallen behind on posting. At least I'm consistent!

Our October newletter went out to members tonight, and if I do say so myself, it might be the best one yet! (Hey, hey, hey, I said *might be*! No promises 😂)

The people have spoken! It was a tight race, but October's winning book selection is Dads Vs. Zombies. This has been on my TBR list for a while now, so this sucker better be good!

Dolly was an icon, a legend, a powerhouse. But beyond her music, the big hair, and the unmistakable personality (except for that one time in a Dolly Parton look-a-like contest), she also spent decades making a difference in the lives of children. Her Imagination Library was partly inspired by her father, who was unable to read or write. She wanted to give children access to books and the joy of reading that her father never had.

So in honor of a great woman, I'm breaking out my rhinestone booties and living as Dolly would: "If you see someone without a smile today, give 'em yours!"

School supply season is upon us and we're excited to support one of our local schools - League City Elementary!

You'll find grade-by-grade lists in graphics, but if you're wandering around the store wondering what to grab, LCE's biggest needs right now are hand sanitizer, Kleenex, Clorox wipes, #2 pencils, and dry erase markers.

You can purchase items directly from the Amazon wishlist (link provided in comments) or shop locally and drop your donations off with Cynthia Green. Every donation helps lighten the load for these lovely educators and gives students a great start to the year.

If it seems like you've seen this book EVERYWHERE all of a sudden, well, you can add one more place to your list - our book club has overwhelmingly voted to read Dungeon Crawler Carl for the month of August!
