Day 3 — September 1st, 2026

✍️ Boots On Ground With Mumzy — Back to School 2026/27

I’m feeling dizzy today, but we have to keep going. September 7th is the big Back‑to‑School day for all our 17 schools, including the kindergarten, and we still have many roofs to fix, grounds to level, and two toilet blocks to build — plus one to rebuild. We’re also changing classroom boards and repairing damaged areas.

This year we don’t have enough funding for school benches.
Each bench is $40, and we still need many.

Deep within these remote villages, children carry a kind of treasure the world cannot measure.
Even in the simplest of circumstances, their hearts shine with hope, their smiles glow with a beauty that poverty cannot dim, and their spirits remain unbreakable. Their dreams are real, and they deserve every chance to rise.

Day 2 - Boots On Ground With Mumzy — Back to School 2026/27 Mission Trip

✍️ Mumzy’s Field’s Journal 📖 • DAY TWO — August 30, 2026 -
- First Trip to Village Ngombo - (Alpha Trade School)

The journey to my children was a stark contrast to the beautiful modern civilization I had just left. Immersed in the breathtaking world of God’s creations, I marveled at the stunning forests, hills, and valleys that stretched as far as the eye could see. Cameroon truly is a beautiful country!

However, the drive through this natural splendor was challenging due to the poor road conditions. This side of the country serves as a stark reminder that man still has a long way to go in improving infrastructure. Developing remote areas where access is nearly impossible will undoubtedly present significant difficulties.

Fortunately, the road in question had been improved about five months ago. I discovered that they were installing tunnels beneath the road to allow water to flow freely without causing damage. I appreciate this initiative, and I believe it will greatly enhance the conditions for those who rely on this route.

Despite these improvements, the rainy season has made the journey even more treacherous. We were forced to reroute ourselves through the muddy and slippery forest, which posed a significant challenge. Most regular sedans couldn’t navigate the terrain, and even the largest trucks were struggling to move forward. Motorcyclists were forced to walk through the mud, creating a hazardous situation for everyone involved. It didn’t help that we were driving in the middle of the night. I’ll share more images later when we cross again during the day so you can see what I’m talking about.

Fortunately, we managed to make it through the difficult conditions. We had to switch to a stronger truck equipped with excellent all-terrain tires, which proved to be the only vehicle capable of traversing the treacherous terrain.

We arrived under the rain around 3:30 am, (Nb: in better conditions, instead of 3 hours it would take us just one hour to do the same distance) and we were scheduled to start the tournament in a few hours. We would have to wait for the rain to cease before we could begin the festivities.

• DAY ONE — August 29, 2026

These pictures were taken on August 29th in Ayos, Cameroon.

After a long day of travel, we arrived in Ayos at 11:00 p.m., the rural town that marks the beginning of our journey into the forest. From here, the paved road ends and the dirt road begins. The heavy rains tonight make the path ahead difficult, but our truck is strong, our tires are ready, and our team is determined. We must reach the villages before the start of the tournament — a challenging goal, but we are committed. We will make it.

Today was filled with preparation for our first deployment. I arrived in Cameroon at 1:00 a.m., and from that moment, I hit the ground running. We searched for a reliable truck that could safely carry us through the slippery, muddy jungle roads. We recruited new teachers, purchased construction materials, food, and basic supplies, and gathered the trophies and medals for the summer tournament finals.

These tournaments are more than games — they are a celebration of our youth’s talent, discipline, and unity. They bring communities together, strengthen relationships, and create opportunities for families to earn income.

Throughout the summer, the games rotated from village to village, allowing each community to showcase itself, welcome visitors, and sell their goods. Mothers sold food, fathers sold drinks, young people sold handmade items — every village had its moment to shine. This movement of people, goods, and joy strengthens the community ecosystem and builds pride across the region.

This year, the tournament feels even more special because we achieved something extraordinary:
a 100% success rate in the national exams.
All candidates from our 17 schools passed. Every single child succeeded.

The children are eager to see Mumzy — to receive their congratulations and to talk about their future. Some will join our trade school, where they can learn practical skills. Some will continue to secondary school in nearby towns. Some may remain in the village because their families cannot afford further education.

We do everything we can to offer scholarships to the highest‑performing students, because their intelligence is precious. These children are pioneers — the ones who will lead their families and communities out of poverty. We refuse to let their potential go to waste.

We also work hard to support our girls, helping them learn skills or continue secondary education so they can become independent, confident young women. When a girl rises, an entire village rises with her.

Tonight, as we prepare to enter the forest tomorrow, we carry a deep sense of purpose. We are committed to empowering communities, uplifting our youth, and building a future where education becomes the path out of poverty.
