What a fun weekend watching our dancers light up the stage! Thanks to our generous supporters, we had TWELVE kids in the recital this year! We caught up with some of them after last nights' show. Bravo 👏🩰💃👏

Who's excited for recital this weekend?!?! Can't wait to see the show! Break a leg to ALL the dancers, especially our Chance to Dance kids. For most of them, this is their first recital 🩰

Dance is so much more than the steps and the moves and the costumes. And it's not just for the girls 😁

You sign her up for dance thinking it’ll be something simple

A way to get her out of the house.
Burn some energy.
Make a few friends her age.

Just a class.
Just a season.
Just something fun.

But then…

She walks into that studio, a little unsure, a little excited
and something clicks.

She starts counting steps in the kitchen.
Spinning in the living room.
Practicing in socks on floors that were never meant to be stages.

And suddenly… it’s not “just dance” anymore.

It’s years of:
early drop-offs and late-night pickups,
bobby pins scattered across your counters,
costumes hanging on door frames,
last-minute tights runs,
recital nerves and proud tears,
volunteering backstage,
and learning the rhythm of a world you never knew you were stepping into.

Because you didn’t just sign her up for a class…

You opened the door to something she loves.

A place where she finds confidence.
Friendship.
Discipline.
Expression.

A place where she becomes more of who she is.

And one day you realize

This wasn’t about filling her time.
It was about helping her find a piece of herself she’ll carry for life. 💗

Calling all current and former dancers! We are in need of gently used dance shoes (styles as pictured). Our greatest needs are smaller-sized ballet shoes (approximately ages 3-8) and larger sizes of jazz shoes (approximately ages 7-14). Drop off box is at The Turn Around or message us for possible pick up options.
