We're accepting applications for a 2nd Shift Recycling Equipment Operator! Primary responsibilities include operating Commission equipment, performing general labor, and assisting with maintenance service and repairs.

The salary range is $22.40 – $31.36 per hour, and the position includes full health benefits, IPERS, and a matching 457 Retirement Plan as well as paid holidays, sick, and vacation. AND there is an opportunity for salary advancement TWICE per year!

For Staff Sgt. Andres Torres, service is more than just a job—it’s a lifelong commitment to his family, his fellow Soldiers, and his future. Since joining the Iowa Army National Guard at 17, he has spent the last 10 years as a 19D Cavalry Scout, fulfilling a dream he’s had since childhood of serving in the military.

Currently on orders as a Unit Movement Officer, Torres is also pursuing a degree in secondary education biology—a reflection of his passion for teaching and mentoring. He enjoys helping new Soldiers learn and grow and hopes to one day join the AGR program to continue making an impact.

His favorite Army experience? Deploying, seeing the world, and the people he has met along the way. But at the end of the day, it’s his family that motivates him the most. Seeing his kids proud of him—especially his oldest, who brags about him being in the Army—makes every sacrifice worthwhile.
